What personal data do we collect?
When you subscribe to receive our newsletter and other marketing emails, we ask you for your firstname, lastname and email address (was also telephone number but now changed this to comply). We collect names, addresses, contact numbers and emails, and the addresses and names of emergency contacts from our charity volunteers. We also collect names and telephone numbers of individuals to whom we are giving talks about the charity.
Why do we collect this information?
This information is required to enable us to recruit volunteers, ensure their safety and wellbeing, to enable us to organise and attend venues to give talks and to help us to assign supporters to appropriate lists to receive the email correspondence to which they have opted-in.
What do we do with your information?
Your information is stored in our Email Management System Mail Chimp, an encrypted Talks Spreadsheet and a locked drawer specifically used to store volunteer information. We do not share this data with any third parties.
How long do we keep your information for?
We will keep your information for as long as necessary unless you are deemed to be inactive for 5 years or more. Your personal information will then be deleted from our system/shredded.
Your rights over your information
By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. You may also request a copy of your information and for us to stop using it for a period of time if you deem it’s use to be unlawful. To make a request please use the contact details above.
