When Classrooms for Malawi first visited Michiru Primary School, sitting at the foot of Michiru mountain, many children were taught outdoors due to lack of classrooms and overcrowding.  When the rainy season came, pupils simply could not go to school, meaning their education suffered greatly.

Working through our volunteer team in the summer of 2015, Classrooms for Malawi worked to construct three brand new classrooms which now stand where before there was only waste ground. The team also worked on extensive renovation and refurbishing work on classrooms which were badly damaged and totally uninhabitable.

The children of Michiru are now learning in safe, dynamic classrooms and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
